AirScope is a tool designed to track aircraft positions and data from online sources, presenting the information in a radar/ATC style on a world map.

When engaging in online flights with VATSIM or IVAO, or when preparing for such flights, having immediate access to the current air traffic and ATC statuses can be invaluable. AirScope provides this functionality through a sleek, universal interface tailored for iOS and macOS devices.

Users can integrate AirScope with their local receivers using the ADS-B Interface, enabling real-time display of traffic data as it is broadcasted. By connecting AirScope to a computer running dump1090 and an ADS-B receiver, users can plot air traffic on the map by recognizing messages in SBS format on a TCP port (default 30003). Additionally, through the cloud-based ADS-B feature, users can access global real-time traffic data from voluntarily covered regions around the world without the need for personal receivers. The ADS-B Interface feature requires an in-app purchase for activation.

Data is regularly fetched from the public servers of the corresponding networks via an internet connection. Aircraft are then accurately rendered on the map based on this information. By tapping on specific aircraft, users can view additional flight details such as callsign, aircraft type, squawk code, flight level, vertical speed, flight stage, course, speed, departure and arrival locations.

Furthermore, AirScope visualizes current online VATSIM and IVAO positions on the map along with their frequencies, facilitating communication for virtual pilots entering their respective airspaces.
